Mike Ange Expeditions® Invites You to be in The Movies

Sub-Aquatic Survivor® Goes Hollywood – Well, documentary film anyway and you are invited to be in the movies. Entering its 7th year, the Sub-Aquatic Survivor training programs releases exciting anniversary news: we are going Hollywood with a completely new training lineup and we are inviting you to join us there. With the launch of Scuba Schools International’s (SSI) TechXR Program last year, we gained access to a completely new series of professional materials that provide the flexibility and level of excellence that our students have come to expect from our courses. We are elated to have this level of material support for our newest offerings from the SSI TechXR lineup. This year’s tech diver training project will also be conducted in cooperation with Valeo Films, Inc.(VMI) and David Ulloa. David and VFI have an established reputation in the production of documentary films, which most recently includes collaboration on a series of shows about Naval Battles from Truk Lagoon to the States for the military channel. After working with David on some other projects, we discovered a mutual desire to create a documentary on the art of technical diving itself. This project will not be about the sites we dive, or the cool things that we see, but about the divers who are willing to go to the cutting edge and the skills and discipline required to get there. In short, it is all about you. At least, it is all about you if you have what it takes to meet some of recreational diving’s toughest training and toughest challenges.

The Sub-Aquatic Survivor (SAS) Program projects are a series of courses first launched in 2001 by noted author, photojournalist, and diving safety expert, Michael Ange with the goal of providing training that takes divers beyond the limits of the roped off sea, and provides the skills to make them more competent and safer divers. The SAS’s fast track to technical diving program, also called the Tech Divers Boot Camp (TBC), allows recreational divers with advanced, nitrox, deep diver and rescue certifications to build the skills and background knowledge necessary to become TRIMIX divers in a challenging fast paced weeklong course. But, do not be confused, there are no short cuts here. We demand excellence every step of the way. Our level of training and our qualifying standards are some of the toughest, if not the toughest, in the industry. Our instructional staff includes some of the most experienced, best qualified and most published training advisors in the world and they have all been teaching technical diving since long before it was cool. Or, for that matter, even sanctioned.

The members of the TBC class of 2007 will be the subject of VMI’s documentary on the art of technical diving. If you would like enroll in this course and agree to be in our film, you must be a certified Advanced Diver, with Nitrox, Rescue and Deep Diver specialties and at least 75 logged dives. Our program will run from November 4 through 10, 2007, in Ocala, FL. The cost to enroll is $2,225 which includes textbooks, dive site fees, lodging at a local hotel, oxygen and helium fills, tanks and weights, if required, and, of course, all of your training fees. Successful participants will complete SSI Advanced Nitrox, Technical Foundations, Decompression Procedures and Normoxic Trimix Courses resulting in certification as an SSI TechXR Normoxic Trimix diver. If you have what it takes to meet this challenge, or even what it takes to attempt this challenge, you might even see your smiling face in a documentary film.

Notes: Candidates will be subjected to an intense physically and mentally demanding training schedule designed to expand their understanding of diving physics and physiology, dramatically improve water skills, and teach the fundamentals of deep decompression diving using multiple gas mixtures. Participants will have the opportunity to earn certifications in advanced nitrox, technical foundations and/or decompression procedures in the event that they cannot complete the full entry-level trimix diving program. Attendance at this program guarantees access to training in accordance with the standards of SCUBA Schools International. It does not guarantee certification. All certifications must be earned by meeting all prescribed standards of the instructional team and SCUBA Schools International. Even though VFI has a proven track-record in the documentary film arena and this production will be offered in a number of cable and private markets, as with any film project there is no guarantee that this program will be purchased and aired by a network.

Whether you are a newbie wanting to MASTER the skills of the EXPERT RECREATIONAL DIVER or an experienced diver wanting to GO BEYOND and venture into: DEEPER WATERS, the historic mystery of an UNEXPLORED SHIPWRECK or experience the thrill and beauty of an UNDERWATER CAVE - we have a program for you.

Mass-market sports may be great but they are not for everyone. Some of us want to live a bit more on the edge and experience the thrilling freedom of a past era where your skills, knowledge and common sense kept you safe - not a set of archaic rules & regulations. Regulations and limitations are a necessity of mass marketing, but they unfortunately make it difficult to find quality training and activities catering to a more adventurous and independent spirit. We realize this and that is what makes the Sub-Aquatic Survivor Programs different.

We cater to those who want to be masters - masters of their leisure activities and masters of their own destiny. If swimming in a roped off sea with a divemaster holding your hand appeals to you, there are a million options available. But if you want the training and knowledge to make your own decisions, to set your own level of risk acceptance and/or enter a playground experienced by only a small percentage of divers - you have just arrived at your destination.

It does not matter if your goals are a tropical reef well within recreational limits OR cutting edge deep wrecks in 100 meters (330 fsw) of water, we will challenge you with some of the world's most noted instructors using proven instructional methods and some of diving's most exacting performance standards. If you accept this challenge, YOU WILL leave a SAFER, BETTER, MORE CONFIDENT and MORE SELF RELIANT DIVER - A DIVER WITH REAL SKILLS for the REAL WORLD, not just exposure to knowledge - we guarantee it.

Still think you have what it takes? Good - SIGN UP - RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW - no excuses. JUST DO IT - register on-line for the course of your choice - WE DARE YOU! Just do not delay, our programs have become status symbols but we can only do a couple of courses each year (usually 1 of each type) and enrollment is VERY LIMITED - mediocre spirits need not apply.
